Howdy, I'm Erin

As a news reporter and editor with a passion for storytelling, I'm on the hunt for my next adventure - and I'm willing to go anywhere to find it. I'm currently open to full-time positions and freelance projects.

Originally from Phoenix, raised in Dallas, and now based in St. Louis, I developed my communication skills at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where I gained hands-on experience covering the Midwest for the Columbia Missourian and KMZU.

After graduation, I hit the ground running as a statehouse intern with St. Louis Public Radio, covering the 2018 Missouri General Assembly at the state Capitol. My skills were put to the test as I reported on everything from groundbreaking legislation to our governor's resignation - and I loved every minute of it.

I spent the summer of 2018 using my photography skills as a visual storyteller for Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed in the suburbs of St. Louis. I captured the excitement of summer programs and put together eye-catching images for use on social media.

In September 2018 I was hired on as the staff reporter and photographer at the St. Louis Call, a hyperlocal weekly newspaper in south St. Louis County. As the sole full-time staffer, I wrote about and photographed everything from local government meetings to sports to human interest stories and more. Two and a half years later, I was promoted to executive editor, taking on the daily editorial operations at The Call. In this role I'm responsible for assigning stories, editing copy and overseeing the design of a 12 to 24 page weekly print newspaper - but I still make time to report on local government meetings, breaking news, feature stories and more.

When I'm not chasing down the latest scoop, you can find me tending to my ever-growing collection of house plants, indulging in a bit too much espresso or rollerskating along one of the many local bike trails in the area.
