Howdy, I'm Erin

I’m a journalist and editor with experience covering everything from state government and courts to local politics and business. I focus on producing reporting that helps readers understand not just what happened, but why it matters.

Originally from Phoenix and raised in Dallas, I earned my journalism degree from the University of Missouri and gained early experience reporting across Missouri for the Columbia Missourian and KMZU. After graduation I joined St. Louis Public Radio as an intern at the state capitol, covering the 2018 Missouri General Assembly and breaking news such as the governor’s resignation.

In 2018 I joined the St. Louis Call as a staff reporter and photographer. As the paper’s only full-time reporter, I covered government, education, crime, business and other community issues — and in 2021, I was promoted to executive editor. I managed the newsroom, edited all content, oversaw the paper's website and directed production of the weekly print edition while continuing to report on the community.

Today, I work as a reporter for Missouri Lawyers Media, covering the state's legal community and courts. I also freelance for other outlets, with experience that includes sports reporting and coverage of the WNBA, MLB, college basketball and women's sports leagues.

I’m based in St. Louis and open to additional freelance opportunities. When I’m not writing, I’m usually adding to my houseplant collection, rollerskating on local bike trails or hunting down the city’s best espresso.
